Prof. Dr. Erik Ranschaert is a radiologist and internationally recognized expert in AI-driven medical imaging. He combines clinical practice, research, and teaching with strategic advisory work, helping hospitals, startups, and tech companies turn innovation into practical solutions. As a Visiting Professor at Ghent University and former President of EuSoMII, Erik guides teams and students in integrating AI responsibly and effectively into radiology. Erik works at the intersection of radiology and technology to improve workflow, accuracy, and patient care.
Daniel Pinto dos Santos is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University Hospital of Cologne and Consultant Radiologist at the University Hospital of Frankfurt. In his research, he focuses on the advancement of data driven approaches in radiology and aims to provide added value for the referring physicians, enabeling more personalized treatment strategies. He is interested in the application of deep learning techniques to improve the imaging workflow, from image acquisition to image interpretation. In his clinical activity, Daniel focuses on computed tomography and abdominal imaging as well as interventional radiology. Daniel is a board member of the European Society for Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII) and serve as Deputy Editor for European Radiology.
Prof. dr. Mark van Buchem, is a professor of neuroradiology at the department of Radiology at the Leiden University Medical Center. Mark’s scientific work is focused on the aging brain. He is fascinated by the changes that occur in aging brains, and in particular by the causes and consequences of these changes. He is interested in the role of diseases of the heart and blood vessels on the aging brain, and in particular by the role of conditions affecting cerebral small vessels. Over the years, Mark developed an extensive national and international network of scientific collaborations. Mark has been actively involved in the leadership of national and international scientific and professional societies, and he has been an active member of numerous national and international committees, advisory boards and editorial boards.
